PRELIMINARY
8-3-4-4 Keyboard Assembly Installation Procedure
NOTE: When performing the following installation procedure steps, it may be helpful to review the appropriate
movie clips previously referenced in the Keyboard Assembly Removal Procedure.
1) Working from the front of the system, make sure the console is raised to the maximum up position.
2) Make sure that the console is aligned in the central position (not pulled to one side or the other).
3) Return the new keyboard assembly to the system gently lowering it into the correct position.
4) Tilt the keyboard assembly upwards, to expose the two cable connections underneath.
5.) Reconnect the Data cable - refer to Figure 8-51 on page 8-41.
6) Using a flat screwdriver, secure the Data cable in position under the two tags (previously released
as shown in Figure 8-50 on page 8-41).
7) Reconnect the USB cable - refer to Figure 8-49 on page 8-40.
8) If used, return the basket to the keyboard interface column (refer to “Basket Installation Procedure”
on page 8-20).
9) Working from beneath the keyboard assembly, fasten the two captive Allen screws (previously
removed) on the left side, as shown in Figure 8-48 on page 8-40.
10) Fasten the two captive Allen screws on the right side - Figure 8-47 on page 8-39.
11) Lower the console to the maximum down position.
NOTE: It is now necessary to turn ON power to the system and upgrade the Keyboard Firmware, as described
in the following steps.
12.)Insert the OP Firmware Ver 8 CD into the DVD tray and boot up the system.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
13.)When the Start Application dialog box opens, click Install SW.
The software installation process starts and the following screen is displayed:
