PRELIMINARY
8-6-3 Battery Bracket Replacement Procedure
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to Vivid S6 N systems only.
8-6-3-1 Tools
Use the appropriate Phillips-type screwdrivers and a side cutter as indicated in the Battery Bracket
replacement procedure.
8-6-3-2 Time Required
1 minute
8-6-3-3 Preparations
Shut down the Vivid S6 N ultrasound unit, as described in 4-2-3 "Power Shut Down" on page 4-7.
8-6-3-4 Battery Bracket Removal Procedure
1) Remove the Vivid S6 N left and right side covers, as described in the 8-2-3-3 "Left Side Cover
Removal Procedure" on page 8-6 and 8-2-2-3 "Right Side Cover Removal Procedure" on page 8-5.
2) Remove the Vivid S6 N front cover, as described in the 8-2-6-3 "Front Cover Removal Procedure"
on page 8-17.
3) Open and remove the cabinet cage assembly and place it on a stable surface, as described in 8-6-
1 "Opening and Removing the Cabinet Cage Assembly" on page 8-109.
4.) Remove the battery, as described in the 8-6-2-4 "Battery Removal Procedure" on page 8-116.
5.) Cut the cable tie wraps.
6.) Loosen (do not remove) the four screws that secure the battery bracket to the cage assembly, as
indicated in Figure 8-147.
7.) Carefully lift the end of the battery bracket that is facing you upwards (while sliding it forwards
slightly to free it from the secured position) to partially remove it from the cage (Figure 8-148).
