PRELIMINARY
8-9-5-5 Black and White Printer Installation Procedure
1.) Carefully place the replacement Black and White Printer into the compartment. Slide it all the way
in, making sure it is properly seated against the rear of the compartment.
2.) Re-connect the USB cable and the power cable to the rear of the printer - refer to, as indicated in
Figure 8-285 on page 8-248.
3.) Return the metal securing plate (previously removed) and slide it all the way into position - refer to
Figure 8-284 on page 8-248. (If necessary, lift the printer slightly to facilitate entrance of the
securing plate into the compartment).
4.) Return and fasten the two lower Phillips screws previously removed from either side of the securing
panel (refer to Figure 8-283 on page 8-248). Make sure the printer is firmly secured in position.
5) Return the bottom rear cover, as described in the “Bottom Rear Cover Installation Procedure” on
page 8-23.
6) Return the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N front cover, as described in the “Front Cover Installation
Procedure” on page 8-19.
7) Return the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N left and right side covers, as described in the “Left Side Cover
Installation Procedure” on page 8-7 and “Right Side Cover Installation Procedure” on page 8-5.
8.) Proceed to perform the following functionality tests:
- “Grounding Continuity” on page 10-23
- “Chassis Current Leakage Test” on page 10-24
- “B/W and Color Printer Test” on page 4-33
