PRELIMINARY
7.) Loosen and remove the seven star-shape screws that fasten the Soft Menu board in position, as
shown in Figure 8-102.
8.) Loosen the two GND cables, as indicated in Figure 8-102.
9.) Lift the Soft Menu board out of the keyboard assembly.
8-4-11-4 LEDs and Soft Menu Board Installation Procedure
1.) Carefully place the new Soft Menu board in the keyboard assembly (refer to Figure 8-102 on
page 8-88). Make sure the board is correctly positioned.
2.) Carefully re-connect the two GND cables (previously loosened), as indicated in Figure 8-102.
3.) Return and fasten the seven star-shape screws (previously removed) to secure the Soft Menu
board in position - refer to Figure 8-102.
4.) Return and fasten the four star-shape screws to secure each of the LEDs and Sensor boards in
position - refer to Figure 8-102.
5.) Re-connect the two flat cable connectors (one to the LED board and one to the Soft Menu), as
indicated in Figure 8-102.
6.) Re-fit the Keyboard Bottom Cover, as described in the “Keyboard Bottom Cover Installation
Procedure” on page 8-60.
7.) Install the Keyboard Assembly on the system, as described in the “Keyboard Assembly Installation
Procedure” on page 8-42
8.) Re-fit all the TGC Keycaps (previously removed).
9.) Proceed to perform the following functionality tests:
- 4-3-1-1 "Alphanumeric Keyboard Test" on page 4-18
- 4-3-1-2 "Extended Keyboard and Trackball Test" on page 4-18
- 4-3-1-4 "Speakers Tests" on page 4-21
- 4-3-1-5 "Light Detector Test for Vivid S6 N only" on page 4-22
- 4-3-4-1 "USB Test" on page 4-37
- 10-6-4 "Grounding Continuity" on page 10-23
- 10-6-5 "Chassis Current Leakage Test" on page 10-24
