PRELIMINARY
8-9-5 Black and White Printer Replacement Procedure
NOTE: This section describes removal and replacement procedures only.
For initial installation and configuration instructions, refer to the information provided in
Chapter 3 - System Setup. See “Sony UP-D897 B/W Video Printer” on page 3-59 and “Configuring
Printing Buttons P1 and P2” on page 3-27.
NOTE: When replacing the Black and White Printer, make sure the correct cover kit has been ordered, if
applicable. Refer to for details.
8-9-5-1 Tools
Use the appropriate screwdrivers as indicated in the Black and White Printer replacement procedure.
8-9-5-2 Time Required
30 minutes
8-9-5-3 Preparations
Shut down the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N ultrasound unit, as described in 4-2-3 "Power Shut Down" on
page 4-7.
8-9-5-4 Black and White Printer Removal Procedure
1) Remove the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N left and right side covers, as described in the “Left Side Cover
Removal Procedure” on page 8-6 and “Right Side Cover Removal Procedure” on page 8-5.
2) Remove the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N front cover, as described in the “Front Cover Removal
Procedure” on page 8-17.
3) Remove the bottom rear cover, as described in the “Bottom Rear Cover Removal Procedure” on
page 8-23.
4.) Loosen and remove the two lower Phillips screws on either side of the securing panel (that holds
the Black and White Printer in position), as indicated in Figure 8-283 on page 8-248.
