8-4-14 ATGC Keycap Replacement Procedure
8-4-14-1 Tools
Use the appropriate flat screwdriver, as indicated in the ATGC Keycap replacement procedure.
8-4-14-2 Preparation
None
8-4-14-3 ATGC Keycap Removal Procedure
1) Carefully place a small flat screwdriver between the ATGC Keycap you wish to remove and the
surface of the keyboard.
2) Use the screwdriver to gently lever off the defective keycap, until it is completely loosened from its base.
3.) Lift off and remove the defective keycap - see Figure 8-105 below.
8-4-14-4 ATGC Keycap Installation Procedure
1) Carefully place a new keycap in position on the slider base, taking care to place the plastic
alignment pin in the correct location.
2) Gently push the keycap down until it snaps into position.
3.) Proceed to perform the following functionality tests:
- “Extended Keyboard and Trackball Test” on page 4-18
- “USB Test” on page 4-37
