2. Assembling
Remark: The 2-part gaskets normally have no signs of wear, therefore no dimen-
sion due to wear is indicated. However, worn or damaged 2-part gaskets 11 and 13
due to contamination must be replaced.

D Immediately before fitting 2-part gaskets smear them with clean engine oil.
D Newly fitted 2-part gaskets must allow radial movement when fitted.
D The assembling of the axial damper is done analogously to dismantling but in
reverse sequence. Pay the utmost attention when lowering cylinder upper
part 4 into place, to prevent 2-part gaskets from being damaged.
Remark: Apply oil to the thread and seating surface and tighten screw 7 between
axial damper and bedplate with a tightening angle of 45_ (see also 0352−1).
