Chapter 41: Logging

Logging History Buffer
The C4/c CMTS routes any event whose priority has been configured for Syslog, local log, SNMP, or the console to a RAM-
based history buffer.
Restrictions and Defaults for Logging History Buffer
The logging history buffer is a circular buffer that by default, stores the last 2000 events that are delivered to any
destination.
With the exception of the debug priority (8), which is reserved for ARRIS Technical Support, all events that have a priority
enabled for at least one destination are stored in the logging history.
For debug priority (8), the events are stored in the logging history only if they are enabled using the configure logging
debug command.
Basic Log Commands
The table below and the paragraphs that follow provide the CLI commands that are used to configure and manage the
basic C4/c CMTS logging function.
For more information on these CLI commands see CLI Overview.
