configure interface cable-downstream * cable interleave-depth
Purpose
Sets the minimum latency of the system.
Default Access Level
15
Command Syntax
configure interface cable-downstream <slot/port> cable interleave-depth <8 | 16 | 32 | 64 | 128>
interleave-increment <1>}
Supplemental
Information
A higher interleave depth provides more protection from bursts of noise on the HFC network; however, higher depth also increases
downstream latency which might slow TCP/IP throughput for some configurations. Low interleave depth values typically cause some
packet loss on typical HFC networks because burst noise lasts beyond the error correction block (FEC) correctable length.
Parameters
<slot>
The chassis slot in which the targeted downstream Cable Access Module resides. Valid range for the C4 CMTS is 0-15; valid range for
the C4c CMTS is 10-15.
<port>
The downstream port.
<8 | 16 | 32 | 64 |
128>
Indicates the downstream interleave depth in taps. Valid values are different for DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS.
DOCSIS: 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128 taps
EuroDOCSIS: 12
Default is set at 32 taps
<1>
The interleave-increment is only available for interleave depth of 128.
