Usage
IfdynamicegressisenabledforaparticularVLAN,whenaportreceivesaframetaggedwiththat
VLAN’sID,theswitchwilladdthereceivingporttothatVLAN’s egresslist.Dynamicegressis
disabledontheD‐Seriesbydefault.
Forexample,assumeyouhave20AppleTalkuserson
yournetworkwhoaremobileusers(thatis,
usedifferentportseveryday),butyouwanttokeeptheAppleTalktrafficisolatedinitsown
VLAN.YoucancreateanAppleTalkVLANwithaVLANIDof55withaclassificationrulethatall
AppleTalktrafficgetstaggedwithVLANID
55.Then,youenabledynamicegressforVLAN55.
Now,whenanAppleTalkuserplugsintoport
ge.3.5andsendsanAppleTalkpacket,theswitch
willtagthepackettoVLAN55andalsoaddport
ge.3.5toVLAN55’segresslist,whichallowsthe
AppleTalkusertoreceiveAppleTalktraffic.
