6.4.3.3 EXITING THE STARTUP MODE
To exit the STARTUP Mode, proceed as follows:
1. Press the [.] key, followed by the [0] and [ENT] keys.
The word "EXIT" will appear on the top line of the display, with the word "DISABLE" on
the bottom line.
2. Press the [8] key once.
The word "ENABLE" will appear on the bottom line of the display.
3. Press the [ENT] key.
The message "SEC CODE" will appear on the display. This means that you must enter a
security code before the RFL 9300 will exit the STARTUP Mode. Press the [.], [1], [3],[5]
and [ENT] keys to enter the required security code.
The RFL 9300 will go through a sequence similar to a front panel button reset that will last for about six sec-
onds. All the lamps will illuminate for a few seconds. Then the RFL 9300 will return to the STANDBY mode,
and the display will return to the moving dot pattern. The security code in step 2 is required because exiting the
STARTUP Mode re-enables the system trip functions, and should not be done casually.
6.4.4 THE PROGRAM MODE
The PROGRAM mode allows you to change parameter settings. Tables 6-9 and 6-10 list all programmable RFL
9300 parameters, along with their codes, definitions and limits. Table 6-9 is for two-terminal units and Table 6-
10 is for three-terminal units. Once a programmable parameter is displayed, you can scroll through a list of its
allowable settings by using the [8] and [0] keys. The PROGRAM mode requires a password for entry.
6.4.4.1 ENTERING THE PROGRAM MODE
To enter the PROGRAM mode from the STANDBY mode, proceed as follows:
1. Press the [ENT] key three times.
The word "PROGRAM" will appear on the top line of the display, and the word "DISABLE"
will appear on the bottom line.
2. Press the [8] key once.
The word "ENABLE" will appear on the bottom line of the display.
3. Press the [ENT] key once.
The message "SEC CODE" will appear on the display. This means that you must enter a
security code before the RFL 9300 will enter the PROGRAM mode. Press the [.], [2], [4],
[8], and [ENT] keys to enter the required security code.
Once the proper security code is entered, the name of the first programmable parameter
("PH BIAS") will appear on the top line of the display. The stored bias value (in amperes)
will appear on the bottom line.
