g. For this procedure set the transmit address (Tx1) of the remote 2 RFL 9300 to 4045.
h. Then press the ENT key to get to the XMT ADD2 screen. Set the transmit address (Tx2) of
the remote 2 RFL 9300 to 0070. Then press the ENT key. (See Figure 6-28A). At this point
all relays should go on-line.
i. To exit the programming mode press .0 ENT. This will get you to the EXIT screen. If the
screen reads EXIT/DISABLE press the 8 key to get into the EXIT/ENABLE screen.
j. Press the ENT key to enter the SEC CODE screen. (The 9300 is asking the operator for
the security code)
k. Press .248 ENT.
l. This completes the programming of the remote 2 unit transmit address.
m. If you have programmed the local , remote 1 and remote 2 transmit addresses correctly,
all three RFL 9300 front panels will display the following:
- All red lights will be out on the display controller and supervisor.
- The audible alarms will be extinguished.
- A green light will illuminate on the display controller. (EN/GN = enable green) This
means that trip is enabled.
- The messages on the display will be replaced with a series of dots that move across
both lines of the display from left to right.
n. All three RFL 9300’s are communicating with each other and are in a normal quiescent
condition.
The system is now in a normal state, with the RFL 9300 units at all three ends of the protected line up and run-
ning.
6.4 DISPLAY MODES
The RFL 9300 has four display modes:
STANDBY This is the RFL 9300's normal operating mode. The STANDBY mode is active whenever the
RFL 9300 is not in any of the other modes.
READ The READ mode allows you to display all present parameter settings and readings. You move
between parameters by pressing the [ENT] key and then the [9] key. This mode can be en-
tered without a password.
STARTUP STARTUP mode allows you to display parameters required during Final Commissioning of the
Relays. You can scroll through a list of parameters by using the [ENT] and [9] keys. This mode
requires a password for entry and exit.
PROGRAM The PROGRAM mode allows you to change parameter settings. Once a programmable pa-
rameter is displayed, you can scroll through a list of its allowable settings by using the [8] and
[0] keys. This mode requires a password for entry and exit. New parameter values are not ac-
cepted unless the [ENT] key is pressed when the selected value is displayed on the bottom line
of the display.
