3.6 HIGH-RESISTANCE GROUND FAULT
Heavy through-load coupled with a high-resistance ground fault may create an "outfeed" condition that is very
difficult for most relay schemes to detect. (See Figure 3-4.)

Figure 3-7 is a polar diagram with the currents on the faulted phase in Figure 3-6 plotted. Since the RFL 9300
has a "rainbow" characteristic, the relay correctly trips.
