19.1 DESCRIPTION
The wide range, 50 Watt power supply shown in Figure 19-1 is a multiple output, forward, dc to dc converter,
which is used to supply regulated dc power to the RFL 9300 Charge Comparison System. The power supply
operates from a 38 to 150 Vdc input and provides three regulated dc outputs: +5 Vdc at 2.5 Amps, + 15 Vdc at
1.3 Amps, and -15 Vdc at -0.6 Amps. All outputs have overvoltage protection and short circuit protection, and
the entire power supply will shut down if the ambient temperature exceeds a pre-established limit. All outputs
are constantly monitored and are connected to a common ground. Should any output exceed lower limits power
fault monitor (U9), will generate an under voltage signal.
