8.4.4.6 EXITING THE STARTUP MODE
To exit the STARTUP Mode, proceed as follows:
1. Press the [.] key, followed by the [0] and [ENT] keys.
The word "EXIT" will appear on the top line of the display, with the word "ENABLE" on the
bottom line.
2. Press the [ENT] key.
The message "SEC CODE" will appear on the display. This means that you must enter a
security code before the RFL 9300 will exit the STARTUP Mode. Press the [.], [1], [3], [5]
and [ENT] keys to enter the required security code.
The RFL 9300 will go through a sequence similar to a front panel button reset that will last for about six sec-
onds. All the lamps will illuminate for a few seconds. Then the RFL 9300 will return to the STANDBY mode and
the display will return to the moving dot pattern. The security code in step 2 is required because exiting the
STARTUP Mode re-enables the system trip functions, and should not be done casually.
8.5 FINAL COMMISSIONING
After all other procedures in this section have been performed, use the following procedure to place the RFL
9300 relays in service.
1. Place one RFL 9300 in the PROGRAM display mode, and set all of its programmable parame-
ters to the required settings for your application. (Refer to Section 4 of this manual for further
information.)
2. Place the RFL 9300 back in the STANDBY display mode.
The display will return to the moving dot pattern.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 at the other RFL 9300 unit(s).
4. Reconnect all the trip output wires that were disconnected during system testing.
The RFL 9300 relay system is now in service.
