27.7 CONNECTIONS
The converters have three basic connection points. The rear external terminal block is used for connections to
the Modbus or DNP network. The on board MOLEX connectors are used for connecting to the 9300 serial port.
The 64 pin DIN connector provides power to the module. In applications using the RS232 selector, the 64 pin
connector also transfers serial signals to that module.
One version of the converter is available with an external connection to the rear RS232 port of the 9300. This
allows connection to the 9300 with the standard Relay I/O assembly. In this application, the RS232 cable is at-
tached to the screw terminals on the converter module.
27.8 CABLES
Two different cable assemblies may be supplied with the converter, depending on the application.
105807 – This cable goes from the Relay I/O to the converter along the tray below the other rear mount I/O
boards. It can be identified by the 3 pin connector on one end and the 4 pin connector on the other. This cable
is used for all applications that use the 106385-0-11 relay I/O and no RS232 selector board.
106723 – This cable goes from the Relay I/O to the converter along the tray below the other rear mount I/O
boards. It can be identified by the fact that it has two connectors on each end. It is used in all applications that
use the
106385-1 Relay I/O and the RS232 selector board.
