SECTION 14: MODEM MODULE
Figure 14-1. RFL 9300 modem module
14.1 DESCRIPTION
The RFL 93B MO Modem Module (Fig. 14-1) contains a receiver for converting incoming analog signals into
digital signals for use in the RFL 93B CC module, and a transmitter for converting digital signals from the RFL
93B CC into analog signals that are passed to the RFL 93 LC I/O and on to the telephone line. The RFL 93B CC
module has two links with the RFL 93B MO; a synchronous serial data link that sends and receives relay data,
and a parallel control bus that monitors and controls the RFL 93B MO.
14.2 CONTROLS AND INDICATORS
The RFL 93B MO contains controls and indicators that are used to prepare the RFL 93B MO for use and to
monitor its operation. Figure 14-2 shows the location of these controls and indicators; they are described below.
None of the RFL 93B MO's controls and indicators are accessible with the module installed in the RFL 9300
chassis; they can only be accessed when the RFL 93B MO is removed from the chassis, or is on a card ex-
tender.
