8.2.2 EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
The following equipment is required to perform single-relay testing:
1. A Volt-Ohm meter.
2. A dc voltage source capable of supplying either 48 Vdc or 125 Vdc, depending upon the power supplies
installed in the RFL 9300.
3. A dc current source that can provide at least 0.4 amperes to drive two 0.2A dc sense circuits.
4. A 60-Hz, single-phase ac current source that can supply up to 15 amperes.
5. The following item is required for 9300 relays equipped with a modem module:
a. A twisted pair of wires about 12 inches (30.5 cm) long.
6. The following items are required for 9300 relays equipped with a direct digital interface module:
(See Figure 8-1)
a. An RFL DCE emulator (RFL part No. 105880).
b. A +5Vdc power supply for the RFL DCE emulator.
c. An RS-449 cable assembly used to connect the direct digital interface module to P1 of
the RFL DCE emulator (RFL part No. 302196-X or equivalent).
d. A loopback connector consisting of a DB-37 male connector with pin 4 connected to pin
6, and with pin 22 connected to pin 24.
7. The following item is required for 9300 relays equipped with a fiber optic module:
a. A fiber optic patchcord.
8. The following items are required for 9300 relays equipped with a short haul fiber interface module:
(See Figure 8-1)
a. A Fiber Service Unit. (RFL part No. 105075-X)
b. Two fiber optic patchcords.
c. An RFL DCE emulator (RFL part No. 105880).
d. A +5Vdc power supply for the RFL DCE emulator.
e. An RS-449 cable assembly used to connect the fiber service unit to P1 of the RFL DCE
emulator (RFL part No. 302196-X or equivalent).
f. A loopback connector consisting of a DB-37 male connector with pin 4 connected to pin
6, and with pin 22 connected to pin 24.
9. The following item is required for 9300 relays equipped with a G.703 module:
a. A loopback connector consisting of a DB-15 male connector with pin 2 connected to pin
4, and with pin 9 connected to pin 11.
