Thephysicalconnectionstothemotoraremadeinsidetheterminalboxonthemotor.
Toavoidseriousdamagetothehoistingmotor,andtoensurethatthemotoroperates
properly,youmustverifythattheelectricalconnectionsaremadeinaccordancewith
thesupplied3-phaseACvoltage.
Thehoistingmotorismounted
verticallyatthetopofthegantry.
Theupperpartofthemotoris
ttedtoagearbox.Thisgear
boxisconnectedtothehoisting
spindleusingatimingbelt.The
electricalconnectionstothe
hoistingmotoraremadeinsidethe
terminalbox.The3-phasesupply
voltageforthemotorcanbe230,
380or440V ACat50or60Hz.

Highvoltagesareused.This
equipmentmustbeserviced
onlybyqualiedpersonnelfamiliarwithhigh-voltageequipmentandthepotential
hazardsinvolved.Failuretoobservethisprecautioncouldresultinbodilyinjury.
Makesurethatthe3-phaseACpowerisdisconnected,andthatthecircuit
breakersaredisengagedintheship’sfusebox.
Removethecoveronthepowerconnectionsterminalboxonthehoistingmotor.V erify
thattheelectricalconnectionstothehoistingmotoraremadeinaccordancewiththe
supplied3-phaseACvoltage.
