oralcommunicationchannelwiththebridgeisrequired.

Asmuchmachineryaspossiblemustbeswitchedoff.Itisparticularlyimportantto
switchoffelectricalmotors,aswellascoolingsystemsandhydraulicpumpsthat
maycauseelectricnoise.
Topreventinterference,allotherhydroacousticinstrumentsmustbeswitchedoff.

Inordertomeasurethenoise,youmustrecordthenoisevalueusingthefunctionality
intheBITEdialogbox.Sincethenoisewillvarywitheachping,youmustmakeve
measurementsforeachvesselspeed,andthencalculatetheaveragenoise.

Ifyourecordalltherawdataduringthenoisetest,youcanrepeatthetestlaterusing
thereplayle.Youmaythenusemorethanvenoisesamplesforeachvesselspeed
tomakeamoreaccuratecurve.
