Priortoinstallationoruse,electronicandelectromechanicalunitsmustbeunpacked
fromtheirtransportboxes.Itisimportantthatunpackingisdonewithoutinicting
damagetotheequipment.
Context
Electronicandelectromechanicalunitsarenormallywrappedinclearantistaticplastic
bags.
Donotbreakthesealtoopenaprintedcircuitboard,anelectronicmoduleoraunit
beforeitshallbeused.Iftheunitisreturnedwithabrokensealwewillassumethatit
hasbeenused.Youwillthenbebilledaccordingly.
Note
BewareofElectrostaticDischarge(ESD)!
Whenyouhandleelectroniccircuitboardsandmodules,youmustbewareofthedangers
ofelectrostaticdischarge(ESD),bothtoyourselfandtotheequipment.Inorderto
ensuresafetransportandstorage,circuitboardsandotherelectronicunitswillalways
bewrappedinaclearplasticprotectivebag,andthebagwillbesealed.
Procedure
1Lifttheunit,initsprotectivebag,outofthetransportbox.

Youmustneverusethecablestoliftorcarryaunit.
2Placeitinastablepositionontheoororontheworkbench.
3Inspecttheunitfordamage.
aIfaunithasbeendamaged,prepareaninspectionreportstatingthecondition
oftheunitandactionstaken.
bDescribethedamage,andcollectphotographicevidenceifpossible.Return
theinspectionreporttoKongsbergMaritimeassoonaspossible.
