TheOperatingPaneloffersallnecessarycontrolfunctionsfornormaloperationofthe
ST90.
Context
ThecontrolsprovidedbytheOperatingPanelare
arrangedinlogicalfunctionalgroups.Thisoffers
youclearandeasyoperationwithfastaccesstokey
functionality.ThemajorityoftheST90functionscan
beaccessedusingthetrackballontheOperatingPanel
andthemenusystemshownintheST90presentation.
Tip
YoucanalsouseastandardcomputermousetocontroltheST90.Themousecanbe
connectedtoeithertheOperatingPanelordirectlytotheProcessorUnit.
TheST90supportstwodifferentoperatingpanels.Thesearereferredtoas"Mk1"and
"Mk2".
•Mk1:TheOperatingPanelisconnectedtotheProcessorUnitwiththreecables.The
dualinterfacecableprovidespowerandserialcommunication.TheUSBinterface
cableisusedtoreadthetrackballmovements.Asmallcommercialpowersupplyis
usedtoprovidepowertotheST90OperatingPanel.
•Mk2:AdedicatedEthernetcableisusedtoconnecttheOperatingPaneltothe
ProcessorUnit.TheOperatingPanelisprovidedwithabuilt-inpowersupply.
Toselectwhichoperatingpaneltouse,opentheOperatingPanelpageintheInstallation
dialogbox.ThispageislocatedintheInstallationdialogbox.TheInstallationdialog
boxislocatedontheSetupmenu.

WhenyouworkintheInstallationdialogbox,youmustalwaysselectApplytosavethe
changesmadeonapage.Youmustdothisbefore
youcontinueworkingonadifferent
page.

ObservethattheInstallationdialogboxopens.Thisdialogboxcontainsanumber
ofpagesselectedfromthemenuontheleftside.
