Powerrequirements
Eachunitinthesonarroomshouldbeprovidedwithaseparatecircuitbreakeronthe
mainssupply.Aminimumnumberofadditionalelectricaloutletsmustbeprovidedfor
otherequipment.Propervesselgroundmustbeprovided.
Cablingrequirements
ThesonarroomunitsareconnectedtootherST90unitslocatedindifferentcompartments
onthevessel.Theunitsmayalsobeconnectedtoperipheraldevices.Ifthesecables
passthroughhatchesorareaswheretheymaybedamaged,theymustberuninconduits.
Minimum2”conduitisrecommended.
Makesurethatallsystemcablesareproperlyconnectedandsecured,andinstalled
withsomeslack.Theslackisessentialtowithstandvibrations,andtofacilitatefuture
maintenanceandreplacements.
Makesurethatthetransducercableisplacedinsuchamannerthatthetransducercanbe
loweredandhoistedwithoutdamagingthecable.

Ifthesonarroomislocatedbelowthewaterline,itmustbeconnectedtothevessel's
bilgepumpsystem.
Bilgepumprequirement
Ifitisnotpossibletoconnectthesonarroomtothevessel'sbilgepumpsystem,a
separatebilgepumpforthecompartmentmustbeinstalled.
Installandactivatebilgehighlevelsensorstoprovideanearlywarningofabnormal
accumulationofwater.Positionthesensorsaslowaspossiblealongthecentreareaof
thecompartment,and/orinotherlocationswherethewaterwillgravitatetorst.Inspect
thebilgesensorsperiodically.
Deckingrequirement
Oncetheinstallationhasbeencompleted,thesonarroommustbesuitablydecked
withoutrestrictingaccesstotheequipmentandthecables.
