workinginarcticconditions.Itisimportantforthemtopreventicefromdamagingthe
transducer.Agatevalvecanthenbeaddedtothehullunitinstallation.Bymeansofa
mechanicalconstructionitshutsoffthebottomoftheinstallationtrunkwhentheST90is
notused.ThegatevalveisnotmanufacturedbyKongsbergMaritime.

Thegatevalveisplacedatthebottomof
thetransducerdock.Itwillthenincrease
thetotalheightofthehullunitinstallation.
•Thehullunitlowersthetransducer
downtoaspecieddepthbelowthe
ship’shull.TheST94HullUnitlowers
thetransducerto2.1metresbelowthe
hull.Thesedepthsaredecreasedwith
thephysicalheightofthegatevalve.
Thedepthsarefurtherdecreasedwith
theheightofthemountingange.
•TheST90allowsyoutodeneamiddle
positionforthetransducer.Whenyou
denethemiddleposition,youmust
takethetotalheightofthegatevalveand
themountingangeintoconsideration.
Theinstallationtrunkisnotusedwhen
agatevalveismounted.Theinstallation
trunkisthenreplacedwithatransducerdock.
Note
Itisveryimportantthatthegatevalvemechanismsareinterfacedwiththehullunit
controller.Whenthegatevalveisclosed,itmustnotbepossibletolowerthetransducer.
Whenthetransducerislowered,itmustnotbepossibletoclosethegatevalve.
