IfyouwanttousetheST90asamasterorslaveinasynchronizedsystem,youmustset
itupforsuchoperation.Todothis,youmustselectwhichcommunicationporttousefor
thesynchronizationinterface,andyoumustselecttherequestedsynchronizationmode.
Prerequisites
Thisprocedureassumesthat:
•Thevesselisberthedoratsea.
•YouhaveanRS2-232interfaceportonyourProcessorUnitthatallowsyoutousethe
CTS/RTSconnections.
For"slave"operation,aremotesystem(forexampleK-SyncorSimradTU40)mustbe
availabletoprovidetriggerpulses.For"master"operation,aremotehydroacoustic
system(sonar,echosounder)isconnected.Thisremotesystemmustbesetupin"slave"
mode.
Youmustbeequippedwithastandardsetoftools.Thistoolsetmustcomprisethe
normaltoolsforelectronicandelectromechanicaltasks.Thisincludesdifferent
screwdrivertypes,pliers,spanners,acablestripper,asolderingiron,etc.Eachtool
mustbeprovidedinvarioussizes.Werecommendthatalltoolsaredemagnetizedto
protectyourequipment.
Context
Whenevermorethanonehydroacousticsystemisinstalledonavessel,interferencemay
occur.Toavoidinterference,youhavetheseoptions:
•Thesystemsareallconnectedtoacommonsynchronizationsystem.
•Oneoftheacousticsystemsissetupas"master",andcontrolsthetransmissionson
theothersystems.
TheST90offersfunctionalityforremotetransmitsynchronization.Itcanbesetupto
operateineitherMasterorSlavemode.
