compatibilitywiththeST90operationalsoftware.Thealarmisprovidedto
makesurethatthefunctionalityofferedbytheST90canbesupportedbythe
transceiverboards.Amismatchwilltriggera"rmwarenotaccepted"alarm.
•TxInhibitOperationMode:Thisfeatureactivatesthesystemprotectiontomake
surethattheST90doesnottransmit("ping")whenyouhavechosenReplay
orInactivemode.
•VesselSpeed:Whenthetransducerisfullylowered,thespeedofthevesselmust
notexceedthemaximumspeedpermittedbythehullunit.Thismaximumspeed
dependsonthesizeofthetransducer,themechanicalconstructionofthehull
unit,andhowfardownthetransducerhasbeenlowered.TheSystemProtection
pageallowsyoutodenean"UpperWarningLimit"thatinitiatesthealarm.

Selectinghullunit
TheST90canbeprovidedwithdifferenthullunits.Themaindifferencebetweenthese
hullunitsisthelengthofthetransducershaft,andthusalsothephysicalheightofthe
entirehullunitassembly.Thesametransducerisusedonallhullunittypes.
Context
ThehullunitprovidedwiththeST90isdesignedtolowerthetransducerdownbelowthe
ship’shullwhentheST90shallbeused.WhentheST90isswitchedoff,thetransducer
ishoistedforprotection.
Caution
Ifthetransducerhitslargerobjectsorbottom,thetransducershaftmaybebent,or
-inworstcase-itcanbebrokenoff.Abrokentransducershaftwillcausewater
leakagethroughthetopoftheshaft.Ifyoususpectthatthetransducershaftisseriously
damagedwithholes,donotretractthetransducertoitsupperposition.
Topreventseriousdamagetothevesselorthevesselstability,youmusthaveawater
pumpandawarningsysteminthesonarroom.
