systemforthersttime.Itisveryimportantthatthisdoesnot
takeplacewhilethevessel
isindrydock.Thetransducermaybedamagedifittransmitsinopenair.
InordertoturnontheST90forthersttimeinacontrolledmanner,twotasksmustbe
donesimultaneously.Twopersonsarerequired.
•OnepersonmuststayonthebridgeinordertooperatetheST90.
•OnepersonmuststayinthesonarroomtoverifythattheTransceiverUnitstarts,and
thatthehullunitworksproperly.
Certainstepsinthetwoproceduresarelocationspecic.Thestepsmarked[Sonarroom]
aredoneinthesonarroom.Thestepsmarked[Bridge]aredoneonthebridge.

Properoralcommunicationmustexistbetweenthebridgeandthesonarroom.Inthe
