TurningontheentireST90systemforthersttime
WhenthemainST90unitshavebeenturnedonindividually,youcanturnontheentire
systemforthersttime.Itisveryimportantthatthisdoesnot
takeplacewhilethevessel
isindrydock.Thetransducermaybedamagedifittransmitsinopenair.
InordertoturnontheST90forthersttimeinacontrolledmanner,twotasksmustbe
donesimultaneously.Twopersonsarerequired.
OnepersonmuststayonthebridgeinordertooperatetheST90.
OnepersonmuststayinthesonarroomtoverifythattheTransceiverUnitstarts,and
thatthehullunitworksproperly.
Certainstepsinthetwoproceduresarelocationspecic.Thestepsmarked[Sonarroom]
aredoneinthesonarroom.Thestepsmarked[Bridge]aredoneonthebridge.
Note
Properoralcommunicationmustexistbetweenthebridgeandthesonarroom.Inthe
eventofproblemsormalfunctions:
