ThehullunitprovidedwiththeST90isdesignedtolowerthetransducerdownbelow
theship’shullwhentheST90shallbeused.WhentheST90isswitchedoff,the
transducerishoistedforprotection.TheST90allowsyoutodeneamiddleposition
forthetransducer.

Themiddlepositionisnotaxedlength.Thephysicalmiddlepositiondependson
whichtypeofhullunityouareusingwiththeST90.
RetractingthetransducertoamiddlepositionmaybeusefulifyouusetheST90
simultaneouslywithothersonars.Ahigherpositionwillpermityoutoincreasethe
vesselspeed.Ifyouoperateinveryshallowwaters,youmayalsoreducetherisk
ofhittingbottom.However,placingthetransducerimmediatelyunderthehullmay
increasetheownoise.
