Thephysicallengthandwidthoftheshipareimportantparametersthatneedtobe
recordedintheST90software.
Prerequisites
Foraccuratelocationoftheshipdimensions,youneedthedetailedvesseldrawings.
Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.TheST90isturnedon,anditisworking
normally.
Context
ItiscommonpracticetoplacetheShipOriginatthesamepositionasthemotion
referenceunit(MRU).Thiswillminimizethevectorswhenyourvesselismoving.Use
thevesseldrawingstoestablishtheoffsetvaluesbetweenthebasicpositionoftheShip
OriginandtheMRUlocation.
IfyoudonothaveamotionsensoryoucanplacetheShipOriginatanylocationonthe
vessel.Wesuggestthatyouplacetheoriginunderthecaptain’sseatonthebridge.All
sensorswillthenbereferencedtothisposition.Wheneverasonarisusedwithshort
ranges,thiswillprovideamoreprecisepresentation.
Procedure
1OpentheSetupmenu.
2OntheSetupmenu,selectInstallation.
ObservethattheInstallationdialogboxopens.Thisdialogboxcontainsanumber
ofpagesselectedfromthemenuontheleftside.
