Oncethemountingange,gatevalveandtransducerdockhavebeeninstalled,aquality
inspectionmusttakeplace.Theinspectionshallverifythattheunitshasbeeninstalled
correctly,andthatthehullunitcanbemountedontopofthetransducerdock.
Prerequisites
Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.
Context
Themountingangemustbemountedsothatitstopmatingsurfaceisinparallelwith
theseasurfaceduringnormaloperatingconditions.Thetransducerdockontopofthe
gatevalvemustremainverticalduringthesameconditions.
Thetopmatingsurfaceofthetransducerdockmustbeprotectedwithawoodencoverat
alltimesuntilthehullunitisinstalled.Itisveryimportantthatthissurfaceiscleanand
undamaged,becauseitmustbewatertightafterthehullunithasbeeninstalled.
Objectsprotrudingfromthehullwillgenerateturbulenceandownoise.Thiswill
reducetheST90performance.Protrudingobjectsmaybezincanodes,transducersor
