Prerequisites
Thisprocedureassumesthat:
ThesensorisconnectedtotheST90.Itisswitchedonandinnormaloperation.
Theinterfaceportissetupwiththecorrectcommunicationparameters.
YouarefamiliarwithNMEAandotherrelevantdatagramformats.
Youknowhowtosetuptheparametersforserialandlocalareanetwork(LAN)
communication.
Thevesselisberthedoratsea.
Allrelevantvesseldrawings,installationreportsand/ormeasurementresultsare
available.
TheST90isturnedon,anditisworkingnormally.
Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.
Context
Amotionreferenceunit(MRU)measuresthevessel’spitchandrollmovementsinthe
sea.TheinformationprovidedbythemotionsensorisusedbytheST90tostabilizethe
beamsandtheechopresentation.
Procedure
1OpentheSetupmenu.
2OntheSetupmenu,selectInstallation.
ObservethattheInstallationdialogboxopens.Thisdialogboxcontainsanumber
ofpagesselectedfromthemenuontheleftside.
3OntheleftsideoftheInstallationdialogbox,selectMotionReferenceUnit.
aIfyouusethemotionsensorintheMotorControlUnitonthehullunit,make
surethatLANisselected.
Thesensorusesalocalareanetwork(LAN)portonyourProcessorUnit.A
messageonthepageveriesthatitisconnectedtotheST90beamformer
application.
bIfyouuseanexternalmotionreferenceunit(MRU),makesurethataCOM
portisselected,andthatthecorrectparametersareprovided.
