ThehullunitprovidedwiththeST90isdesignedtolowerthetransducerdownbelow
theship’shullwhentheST90shallbeused.ThisisakeyfunctionalityoftheST90.
Itisveryimportantthatthehoist/lowerfunctionistestedbeforetheST90isputto
operationaluse.Inordertotestthelowerandhoistfunctionalityofthehullunit,two
tasksmustbedonesimultaneously.Thesetasksaredoneonthebridge.
Prerequisites
TheST90isinstalledasspeciedinthismanual.TheST90isturnedon,anditis
workingnormally.Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.
Context
Certainstepsinthetwoproceduresarelocationspecic.Thestepsmarked[Sonar
room]aredoneinthesonarroom.
Procedure
1Makesurethatyouhavesufcientwaterdepthbelowthekeelbeforeyoulower
thetransducer.
2[Sonarroom]LocatetheMotorProtectingSwitch(S301).Settheswitchtoposition
ON.
3[Sonarroom]LocateHoist/LowerSwitch(S302).Settheswitchtoposition
REMOTE.
4Lowerthetransducertoitsmiddleposition.
aOntheOperatingPanel,pressMiddle.
Toindicatetransducermovement,theMiddleindicatorlampashes,andan
audiblesignalissounded.Whenthemiddlepositionhasbeenreached,the
indicatorlampislit,andtheaudiblesignalstops.
b[Sonarroom]Whenthetransducershaftstops,makesurethishappensatthe
correctmiddleposition.
