Supported Rack Requirements
If you are installing the shelf in a cabinet, air flow holes may need to
be present on the cabinet's front door and back side. Having the air
flow holes present is necessary to support proper shelf airflow and
cooling.
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE MAY RESULT IF AN SH4R OR SH4R-2
IS INSTALLED IN A TWO-POST NON-ETSIRACK.
The depth and weight of a populated shelf might cause structural and
mounting bracket damage. Additionally, its instability might cause it
to fall and become damaged. For non-ETSI configurations, you must
install the SH4R or SH4R-2 in a four-post rack (with the guide rail kit).
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE MAY RESULT IF AN SH1R IS
INSTALLED IN A TWO-POST RACK (WITHOUT THE MID-
MOUNT BRACKETS).
The depth and weight of a populated shelf might cause structural and
mounting bracket damage. Additionally, its instability might cause it
to fall and become damaged.
The HD shelves can be mounted in a rack that provides holes or hole patterns spaced at
1U (44.45 mm/1.75 in.) increments. The mounting brackets are designed to support that
spacing.
