Installing the Mounting Brackets on SH1R
Guide Rails
This procedure is to install mounting brackets to the guide rails for a 23-
inch or ETSI four-post rack. If you are installing the shelf in a 19-inch four
post rack or a two-post rack, you can skip this step.
This procedure assumes that:
l You want to install the shelf in a 23-inch or ETSI rack four-post rack;
l The shelf is unpacked and inspected;
l It is damage-free; and
l The shelf is on a static-dissipative mat.
1. Verify that you are properly grounded with an anti-static wrist strap or heel strap
connected to the grounded ESDjack.
2. Select the appropriate mounting brackets (23-inch or ETSI).
3. Use the Phillipsscrewdriver and two M6x12 screws to attach the mounting bracket
to the front of the left guide rail.
4. Use the Phillipsscrewdriver and two M6x12 screws to attach the mounting bracket
to the back of the left guide rail.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the right guide rail.
