Required Tools and Equipment
With this extension, the SH12 front cover can be extended up to 30
mm and the SH4R and SH4R-2 front cover can be extended to 25
mm. If you extend to the maximum extension, the total depth of the
shelf exceeds what is specified in ETSI EN 300 119-3 and as a
result, cannot be installed in an ETSI cabinet.
Required Tools and Equipment
l ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal grounding device
l Suitable grounded surface or a static-dissipative mat (if not already rack-mounted)
l Front cover extension kit for SH12 (if applicable)
l Torx T10 screwdriver
l Front Cover Extension Kits
l Installation Overview SH12 Shelf
l Installation Overview SH4R and SH4R-2 Shelves
Installing the SH12 Front Cover Extension
This procedure assumes that:
l The shelf is unpacked and inspected;
l It is damage-free; and
l The shelf resides on a static-dissipative mat.
1. Verify that you are properly grounded with an anti-static wrist strap or heel strap
connected to the grounded ESD jack.
2. Use the Torx T10 screwdriver to remove the two screws that attach the front cover
fixing bracket to the shelf mounting bracket. Set aside the screws and front cover
fixing bracket.
