Installing a Module Slot Cover
Installing a Module Slot Cover
1. Verify that you are properly grounded with an anti-static wrist strap or heel strap
connected to the grounded ESDjack.
2. If installed, remove the front cover from the shelf as described in Removing and
Installing Front Covers.
3. Hold the slot cover by the thumb screws with the faceplate toward you.
4. Align the cover edges with the guides of the appropriate shelf slot.
5. Push on the faceplate to fully seat the slot cover. The slot cover is completely
inserted when its faceplate is flush with the faceplates of the adjacent modules and
the shelf panels.
6. After you have completely inserted the slot cover, hand-tighten the thumb screws to
prevent inadvertent dislodging. Do not overtighten.
7. Reinstall the front cover as described in Removing and Installing Front Covers.
Install slot covers in all empty slots, including ECM, PSM, and traffic
module slots.
