Installing the PSM-DC4 in the SH4Rand SH4R-2
Installing the PSM-DC4 in the SH4Rand
SH4R-2
This procedure assumes that:
l The shelf is properly grounded to the rack;
l No voltage is present (if using DCpower); and
l The shelf and module are properly inspected.
1. Verify that you are properly grounded with an anti-static wrist strap or heel strap
connected to the grounded ESDjack.
2. Based on the redundant, load-sharing mode configuration you want to support,
determine which slots to install the PSMs. See Power for PSM slot information.
3. Stand behind the shelf, and then hold the PSM upright with the faceplate toward you.
4. Insert the PSM into the appropriate slot.
5. Gently apply pressure to the faceplate while you push the module into the slot.
6. Push on the faceplate to fully seat the module. The module is completely inserted
when its faceplate is flush with the back plate of the shelf.
7. After you have completely inserted the PSM, hand-tighten the thumb screws to
prevent inadvertent dislodging.
8. Use a Torx T10 screwdriver to gently tighten the retaining screw as needed. Do not
overtighten.
