Replacing an FTM
If the replacement module does not work, or the LEDs do not respond as
expected, remove and reinstall it. If it still does not work, immediately
install another replacement.
Currently ECM redundancy is not supported. However, a second,
dormant ECM can be installed in the additional slot as a future spare
ECM. The software recognizes the ECM is present without raising
alarms.

To determine the correct COM port for your Windows laptop/PC, open Control Panel >
System and Security > System. Open the "Device Manager" and expand "Ports (COM &
LPT)" to view the respective COMport.

You can replace a defective FTM while the shelf is in service. We
recommend that you have a spare FTM available at all times.
When one of the FTMs is malfunctioning or has failed, it should be
replaced within 48 hours after failure. To restore system cooling,
ensure that the replacement procedure does not exceed three
minutes.
