Installing the Mounting Bracket Adapters on
SH4R and SH4R-2 Guide Rails
This procedure is to install mounting bracket adapters to the guide rails for
an ETSI four-post rack. If you are installing the shelf in a 19-inch or 23-
inch four-post rack, or an ETSI two-post rack, you can skip this step.
This procedure assumes that:
l You want to install the shelf in a four-post ETSIrack;
l The shelf is unpacked and inspected;
l It is damage-free; and
l The shelf is on a static-dissipative mat.
1. Verify that you are properly grounded with an anti-static wrist strap or heel strap
connected to the grounded ESDjack.
2. Use the Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20 screws to attach a FL/RR mounting
bracket adapter to the front of the left guide rail.
3. Use the Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20 screws to attach a FR/RL mounting
bracket to the rear of the left guide rail.
4. Use the Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20 screws to attach a FR/RL mounting
bracket adapter to the front of the right guide rail.
5. Use the Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20 screws to attach a FL/RR mounting
bracket to the rear of the right guide rail.
