The SH12 ships with side air covers installed or included in the shipment ready to install,
depending on your particular configuration. To determine if side covers are needed with
your configuration, see Accessory Installation Requirements.
At the bottom of the shelf, internal fans cool the PSMs with airflow from front to rear. The
shelf contains front and rear air openings for the PSMs. Without side air covers, the air
exits through the sides of the shelf. With side air covers, the air exits through the back of
the shelf.
This airflow direction accommodates another shelf directly above or below without the
need for an air gap between the shelves.
The air filter for the PSMs resides in the lower front cover.
