Required Tools and Equipment
To shorten and assemble DC power cables (optional)
l ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal grounding device
l Two or four DCpower cables of the proper length, depending on which redundant,
load-sharing mode configuration you want to support (provided by ADVA Optical
Networking but have to be ordered separately)
l Appropriate terminal connectors to match the connectors on the external power source
l Tape measure
l Wire cutter
l Wire stripper
l Wire crimping tool
You must use the ADVA Optical Networking provided power cables.
To connect the DCpower cables to the shelf
l ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal grounding device
l Two or four DCpower cables of the proper length, depending on which redundant,
load-sharing mode configuration you want to support (prepared in Shortening and
Assembling DCPower Cables)
l Torx T10 screwdriver
l Phillips screwdriver size 1
l Appropriate screwdriver or spanner for the terminal screws of the DC power source,
e.g. a PDU
To connect the ACpower cables to the shelf
l ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal grounding device
l Appropriate number of ACpower cables, depending on which redundant, load-sharing
mode configuration you want to support (provided by ADVA Optical Networking but
have to be ordered separately)
For operation in various countries, country-specific AC power cables are
available. For proper system operation, use the appropriate AC power
cables.
