It is mandatory that air filter pads are in use at all times to prevent dust and debris from
entering the shelf. The pad is included with the air filter unit. For shelves, access to the
replaceable air filter is at the bottom of the shelf. For the PSM-AC6, access to the
replacement air filter is on the front of the module.
A dirty air filter pad negatively influences cooling efficiency. Replace
dirty air filter pads at least once a year. ADVA Optical Networking
recommends replacing the air filter pad every 90 days in
environments without air filtration.

Front Cover Extension Kits
The front cover extension increases the cabling space between the module faceplates
and the SH12, SH4R, and SH4R-2 shelf front cover.
If you plan to install a front cover on your HD shelf and you use cables
with MPOconnectors, you must also install the front cover extension. To
determine if your shelf rack or cabinet configuration supports front covers
and extensions, and for more information about accessory installation
requirements, see Accessory Installation Requirements.
