Overview
Pluggable transceivers are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable components. You can
easily insert them into or remove them from the appropriate traffic module interfaces
without the use of any tools by using finger-pressure. You do not need to deactivate the
traffic module when you remove or install a pluggable transceiver.
l Pluggable Transceivers
l QSFP Optical Transceivers
l Handling Pluggable Transceivers
Required Tools and Equipment
l ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal grounding device
l Suitable grounded surface or a static-dissipative mat
l Appropriate pluggable transceiver
l Dust plug, if not replacing the pluggable transceiver
CAUTION
The use of pluggable transceivers other than those approved and
released by ADVA Optical Networking results in loss of laser safety
approval for the respective module and entire HD system. Only approved
pluggable transceivers guarantee the behavior in conjunction with the
module as specified.
To ensure your safety, as well as the warranty, reliability and
compatibility of your HD system, use only original ADVA equipment.
