Shelf power is provided by –48 VDC input from redundant A and B battery feeds. The
power feeds are located on the bottom front of the SH12. Each power supply has its own
A and B backplane feed. Each input feed has its own –48 V fail detection.
When the SH12 configuration is for front DC operation, it uses the power feed module
(PFMF). This module is passive and connects the –48 VDC at the front of the shelf to the
backplane. It contains additionally passive power filters for the –48 VDC.
For ACpower, connect the AC power cables connect directly to the front of the power
supply.

Grounding
The SH12 contains these ground terminals and connectors:
l Chassis ground
l Signal ground
l Strap for a 2-zone or 3-zone configuration
l ESD ground
The signal ground and 3-zone ground configuration are currently not
supported.
