Removing a Traffic Module
To make it easier to reattach the cables, make sure they are labeled.
1. Verify that you are properly grounded with an anti-static wrist strap or heel strap
connected to the grounded ESDjack.
2. If installed, remove the front cover from the shelf as described in Removing and
Installing Front Covers.
3. Disconnect the various cables.
4. If pluggable transceivers are installed, remove them as described in Removing a
Pluggable Transceiver.
5. Loosen the thumb screws.
6. Lift out on the locking levers to disconnect the module from the backplane.
7. Grasp the levers, and then carefully slide the traffic module out of the shelf.
8. Place the defective traffic module on a static-dissipative mat.
9. Return the defective traffic module to ADVA Optical Networking as described in
Returning Equipment.
