b. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and four M3x6screws to attach the right guide rail
bracket to the right guide rail.
4. If you are installing the shelf in a four-post rack:
a. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and four M6x20screws to attach the left guide rail to
the rack.
b. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and four M6x20screws to attach the right guide rail to
the rack.
5. If you are installing the shelf in an ETSItwo-post rack:
a. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and three M6x20screws to attach the left guide rail
bracket (L) to the rack.
b. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and three M6x20screws to attach the right guide rail
bracket (R) to the rack.
c. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20screws to attach the left guide rail to
the rack.
d. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20screws to attach the right guide rail to
the rack.
6. On the rack mounting rails, locate and mark the mounting holes where you will mount
the shelf.
7. Depending on your rack configuration, install two or four cage nuts in the
corresponding holes on both sides of the rack.
8. If there is a terminal connector used for the ground point preinstalled in your rack,
skip this step and proceed to the next step. Otherwise, locate and clip the cage nut to
the right mounting rail on the back side of the rack for the grounding cable to be
attached.
9. Mount the shelf to the rack:
a. With a person on each side, lift the shelf to the bay and position it in the rack so
that the bracket holes on each side are aligned with the rack mounting holes or
the cage nuts.
b. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20screws to attach the left mounting
bracket to the rack.
c. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver and two M6x20screws to attach the right mounting
bracket to the rack. The shelf should rest on top of the guide rails.
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE MAY RESULT IF YOU LIFT THE
SHELF BY INSERTING YOUR HANDS INTO THE SHELF.
Lift from the outside of the shelf to avoid damage.
While positioning the shelf into the rack, keep hold of the grounding cable,
which is attached on the shelf’s right side or reverse side, to not
inadvertently jam it.
