10 Mb/s or 100 Mb/s,
the port admin state is
disabled or
unassigned, or the link
was not established
due to one of these
reasons:
Faulty or incorrect
cable.
The ECM-x Reset
button is pressed
continuously.
The PC or hub
connected to the
ECM-x is faulty.
If the link is operating at 10 Mb/s
or 100 Mb/s, no action is
required. Otherwise, follow
these steps:
1. Use the management
software to check the port
admin state. If the port
admin state is disabled or
unassigned, set it to "In
Service."
2. Check if the cable is correct.
To establish a direct
connection to a PC, use the
crossover cable delivered
with the . To connect the
ECM-x to a hub or switch,
use a straight-through cable.
3. To check if the cable is
faulty, swap it with another
of the same type.
4. Check if the ECM-x Reset
button remains pressed
continuously. If the module
does not emit the normal
number of beeps and
connecting a valid interface
to the RJ-45 port does not
cause theLED to illuminate,
push a paper clip or other
narrow object into the Reset
button once and release.
The button should return to
the normal state.
5. Try using a different PC or a
different interface on a hub
or switch.
