Replacing a CEM
4. Gently apply pressure to the bottom of the faceplate while you push the module into
the slot.
5. Push on the faceplate to fully seat the module. The module is completely inserted
when its faceplate is flush with the faceplates of the adjacent modules and the shelf
panels.
6. After you have completely inserted CEM-3,îgrasp the faceplate and rotate it to the
right to gain access to the cable area.
7. Reconnect the RJ-45 Management ports, if necessary.
8. Reconnect the Interconnect port, if necessary.
9. Close the faceplate and hand-tighten the thumb screw.
10. Use a Torx T10 screwdriver to gently tighten the thumb screw. Do not overtighten.
11. Look at the module LEDs to ensure they are operating correctly. For
LEDîinformation, see Troubleshooting with Component LEDs.
If a firmware mismatch alarm is raised on this module, upgrade the
module software. See the appropriate software document for procedures.

If the replacement module does not work, or the LEDs do not respond as
expected, remove and reinstall it. If it still does not work, immediately
install another replacement.
