If you turn off Quantize, (by setting it to Free) or select a
different Quantize setting after having already recorded some
tracks, the existing tracks will remain Quantized as before
while any new tracks you subsequently record will adopt the
new Quantize setting.
The other function found here is Play/Rec mode. This al-
lows you to choose an alternate way of listening to the
song playback.
The normal mode for playing
a song is called Linear.
This simply means that when you press PLAY, the song will
play straight through from the beginning to the end.
The second mode is called
Forced Stop.
This is useful when you have a long song and you wish to
play a shorter version of it. Instead of editing the song and
deleting all the measures that you dont want to hear, you
can simply play the song in Forced Stop mode. This simply
means that you can set the measure where you want the
song to finish playing. The original song is completely pre-
served and can be played at any time by simply returning to
Linear mode.
The third mode is called Loop.
This would normally be used in a situation where you are
concentrating on a particular section of the song and wish to
hear that section in a continuous loop without having to lo-
cate it from the beginning each time. It can also be useful
when you are overdubbing drum instruments into the same
track.
