Format Floppy - 1.62 Mb
This can be used to format HD floppy disks to the Genesys
Ensemble own high capacity standard. If you are creating
disks which are primarily to be used only with this instru-
ment or to share with other Genesys Ensemble users then
this format is more efficient and uses more of the disks
available space.
Format Floppy 1.44 Mb
Format Floppy 0.720 Mb
The Genesys Ensemble is able to format and use disks in
either of these popular MS-DOS sizes. MS-DOS formatted
disks should be used if you want to copy disks on a home
computer of if you want to send them via the internet.
Typically, most disks you buy today will be capable of using
the 1.44 Mb, (High Density) format. 0.720 Mb should be
used only for the older Double Density type.
If you buy IBM formatted disks you should not need to
format them before they can be used.
Change Floppy Label
Floppy disks have an 11 character label which can be
changed with this function.
Refresh Floppy
Just like most computers, if you remove a disk and then
insert a different disk, the display will continue to show you
the contents of the previous disk. In order to see the con-
tents of the newly inserted disk, you should use the Re-
fresh Floppy function.
Note: Another way to perform this function after insert-
ing a new disk is to switch to HD and then back to FD.
